Liturgy of the Hours

The Liturgy of the Hours is a set of prayers prayed throughout the day by priests, religious, and laity. Priests are required to pray the hours as their promise to live a prayerful life at the time of their ordination. Typically, a priest prays Morning Prayer, Daytime Prayer, Evening Prayer, Night Prayer, and the Office of Readings. Seminarians begin by praying Morning Prayer and Evening Prayer, either individually or with the community.
